I hate wrapping presents

scissors-open1It’s that time of year: time to wrap all those presents you bought. I love buying people gifts, and I love to see them open them, but I hate wrapping them up.

I never cut out the right amount of paper. I unroll the paper, put the box on it, and cut away. But one of two things happens: 1) Either I get so much paper, that I end up wadding up a bunch and shoving it under the rest, or 2) I end up short by a sliver of paper, so I cut a small piece and tape it on top. Seriously, is this the only time in my life I will use surface area?

Evidently, you also need three hands when wrapping presents, because you’re supposed to hold the paper together with both hands while you also tear the tape.

And if the tape accidentally touches the paper, it’s over. It pulls the design off and you realize that all wrapping paper starts with a thin layer of tissue paper.

You know how your mom can cut wrapping paper by just sliding the scissors? I can’t do that. When I try, it works for like 3 inches, and then it rips a gigantic tear in the middle of the paper.

And we all know that wrapping paper is just too tall. By Christmas, you have 17 tiny rolls of paper that are each 4 inches wide.

Bows and ribbons? I don’t think so.

I’m sure there is something on Pinterest that will help me out, but if you get a gift from me, don’t be surprised if I just hand you a Kohl’s bag.
