Update: All the monies have been pledged! Thank you so much for your generosity! Our church, Grace Community Church, is very active in serving in our community and the world. This March, my wife, Kim, will have the opportunity to go with Grace to St. Mary’s Orphanage for Girls in Guatemala. This is information from the church website:
GCC is sending a mission team to Guatemala to work with the St. Mary’s Orphanage. This orphanage is home to 48 girls ages birth to 17 years old. Currently they are functioning on $100 a month! An amazing accomplishment for so many people! The desire for the women who run St. Mary’s is to be self-sustaining. We are helping them get to that point. During the week our team will be helping to build a chicken coop, expand the garden, build the foundation for a sewing center and bakery, as well as investing in the lives of the residents. These things will change the day-to-day life of the girls tremendously. Not only will the girls learn skills to survive, they will have a source of healthy food that is not currently available to them. Each member of the mission team has raised funds or paid for their own way to go.

The money that Kim needs to raise is $1500. Kim had the idea to get 150 people to donate just $10 each. You can see on the left how many spots have been pledged. Would you consider donating $10 before January 31 to completely pay for this trip? The easiest way is to send us a check.

Thanks so much. We’re very excited about how quickly people are responding, but especially about the eternal impact that this missions team will make for St. Mary’s Orphanage and the girls that are there.
